At Purewell, we want you to feel confident when shopping for home and outdoor water filtration products. This Return & Refund Policy explains how returns, refunds, exchanges, damaged items, missing items, replacement filters, and product-specific return conditions are handled.

This Policy applies to purchases made directly through www.purewell.com. If you purchased a Purewell product through another retailer, marketplace, reseller, or distributor, please contact that seller directly for their return and refund policy.

1. 30-Day Return Window

We offer a 30-day return window. This means you may request a return within 30 days after receiving your item, provided that the item meets the eligibility requirements in this Policy.

To start a return, you must contact us before sending any item back. Items returned without prior authorization may not be accepted.

2. Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, the product must generally be:

Purchased directly from Purewell.com.
Returned within the applicable return window.
Unused, uninstalled, unfilled with water, and in the same condition as received.
Returned with original packaging, manuals, accessories, components, and proof of purchase.
Free from damage, stains, odors, contamination, scratches, dents, missing parts, or signs of improper use.

Purewell reserves the right to refuse a return or reduce the refund if the returned product does not meet these conditions, subject to applicable law.

3. Drinking Water Hygiene Policy

Because Purewell products are used for drinking water filtration, hygiene and product safety are important. Products that have been filled with water, installed, activated, primed, connected, used, or otherwise exposed to drinking water may not be eligible for resale or standard return processing.

For hygiene reasons, used water-contact components, opened consumable filters, and products that show signs of use may be non-returnable unless the return is related to a verified defect, damage, or incorrect item caused by Purewell.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items may not be eligible for return or refund unless required by law or unless the issue is caused by Purewell:

Used, installed, filled, activated, or water-exposed products.
Opened, used, activated, primed, expired, or contaminated replacement filters.
RO membranes, filter cartridges, carbon filters, gravity filter elements, outdoor filter elements, and other consumable filtration components once opened or used.
Products missing original packaging, manuals, accessories, or required components.
Products damaged by misuse, neglect, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or incompatible accessories.
Gift cards, digital products, final sale items, clearance items, or customized products where applicable.

5. Replacement Filters and Consumable Products

Replacement filters are consumable products. This includes gravity filters, RO filters, RO membranes, carbon filters, outdoor filter elements, bottle filters, straw filters, pump filters, and similar filtration components.

For safety and hygiene reasons, replacement filters may only be returned if they are unopened, unused, unprimed, uninstalled, and in original packaging, unless the item is defective, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise required by applicable law.

6. Gravity Water Filter Systems

For countertop gravity water filter systems, all chambers, lids, spigots, stands, water level windows, filters, washers, seals, and accessories must be returned complete and in original condition.

Gravity systems that have been assembled, filled with water, used for filtration, contaminated, dented, scratched beyond normal inspection, or returned with missing parts may not qualify for a full refund.

7. Countertop Reverse Osmosis Systems

Countertop RO systems must be returned with all tanks, pitchers, filters, membranes, power adapters, accessories, tubing, manuals, and packaging included, where applicable.

RO systems that have been installed, flushed, filled, activated, connected to power, connected to water, or used may be subject to inspection and may not qualify for a standard return due to hygiene, performance, and resale limitations.

8. Outdoor Water Purifiers

Outdoor water purifiers, filter pumps, water filter bottles, water filter straws, soft flasks with filters, and similar products must be returned unused, clean, dry, and complete with all original components.

Outdoor filtration products exposed to natural water sources, dirt, sand, mud, chemicals, biological material, or other outdoor contaminants may be non-returnable unless the issue is verified as a Purewell-caused defect, damage, or incorrect shipment.

9. Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If you receive a damaged, defective, incorrect, or incomplete item, contact us as soon as possible so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

To help us process the claim, please provide your order number, photos or videos of the product, photos of the packaging, shipping label, and a description of the issue. If the issue is caused by Purewell or our fulfillment process, you will not be required to pay return shipping for that issue.

10. Missing Items

If your order is missing a product, accessory, filter, manual, or required component, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos of the package contents. We will review the issue and may send the missing item, provide a replacement, or offer another appropriate solution.

11. Return Shipping Costs

If the return is caused by customer preference, ordering error, change of mind, incorrect product selection, or other customer-related reasons, the customer is generally responsible for return shipping costs. The exact cost depends on the carrier or shipping service selected.

If the return is caused by Purewell, such as an incorrect item, damaged item, verified defect, or fulfillment error, Purewell will cover the return shipping cost or provide another suitable solution in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

12. How to Start a Return or Exchange

To request a return or exchange, please use our Returns & Exchanges Portal, available on our website and in your customer account.

Simply enter your Order Number and the Email Address used for your purchase. If your order is eligible, you can submit your request online.

Once approved, we will email you a prepaid return label and return instructions. After we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund or ship your replacement order, as applicable.

13. Return Address

Return addresses may vary depending on product type, order location, warehouse availability, and the reason for return. Please do not use any address published on the website or package unless we specifically provide that address for your return authorization.

Items sent to the wrong address, sent without authorization, or sent without tracking may be delayed, refused, or ineligible for refund.

14. Tracking Number Requirement

Once you ship a return, please provide the tracking number to Purewell promptly. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and keeping proof of shipment. Purewell is not responsible for returns lost in transit when the customer arranges return shipping.

15. Inspection and Refund Approval

After we receive your return, we will inspect the product to confirm condition, completeness, eligibility, and compliance with this Policy. We will notify you whether the refund is approved, partially approved, denied, or requires further review.

If the returned product is used, damaged, missing parts, missing packaging, contaminated, or not in eligible condition, we may reduce the refund, refuse the return, or return the item to you, subject to applicable law.

16. Refund Processing

If your refund is approved, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method within 3–7 business days after approval. Your bank, credit card issuer, payment provider, or payment network may take additional time to process and post the refund.

Shipping fees, customs duties, import taxes, payment provider fees, and other third-party charges may not be refundable unless required by law or caused by Purewell’s error.

17. Exchanges

Where available, we may offer exchanges for eligible items. The fastest way to receive a different product may be to return the eligible item and place a new order after the return is approved.

Exchanges are subject to product availability, condition requirements, shipping limitations, and applicable law.

18. Promotions, Bundles and Gifts

Orders purchased with discounts, coupon codes, bundles, gifts, free items, or promotional offers may be refunded based on the amount actually paid after discounts. If a bundle or promotional set is returned partially, the value of any retained items, gifts, or discounts may be deducted from the refund.

Promotional items, free gifts, or bonus products may need to be returned with the original order to receive a full refund.

19. International Orders, Customs and VAT

For international orders, shipping costs, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or similar charges may be handled differently depending on destination country and checkout terms. 20. EU and UK Consumer Rights

For eligible online purchases in the European Union, consumers generally have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days after receiving the goods, subject to legal exceptions. UK online consumers generally have similar cancellation rights. Certain items, including goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed after delivery, may be excluded where permitted by law.

21. Warranty Claims vs Returns

A return request is different from a warranty claim. Returns are generally handled within the return window and based on product condition. Warranty claims are handled under the applicable product warranty and may relate to defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period.

Dissatisfaction based solely on taste preference, flow rate expectations, local water conditions, or misunderstanding of filtration technology may not qualify as a defect unless verified through product evaluation or required by applicable law.

How to Use the Carbon Filter

Follow these simple steps to prepare, install, and use your carbon filter correctly.

01 Prime Filters Assemble and rinse before installation. 02 Filters Installation Secure the filters in the upper chamber. 03 Important Notice Use correctly to avoid clogging or poor flow.

Step 01

Prime the Carbon Filter

Before installation, place the washer and wing nut correctly, then rinse the carbon filter under running water.

Remove the wing nut and filter washer, then place them back on the threaded stem in the correct position.

Make sure the washer and wing nut are positioned securely before connecting the filter to the faucet.

Rinse the carbon filter for at least 60 seconds, or until the water runs clear.

Tip: Priming helps flush loose carbon particles before the filter is installed.

Place the washer and wing nut on the filter stem.

Install the Carbon Filters

Insert the threaded rod of each carbon filter through the upper chamber, then secure it from below.

Place the threaded rod of the carbon filter through a filter washer.

Insert the filter into the hole in the upper chamber.

From below, add the remaining washer and wing nut, then tighten securely.

Tip: Make sure each filter is stable and sealed before filling the upper chamber.

Important Notice

Follow these guidelines to help maintain normal water flow and avoid improper use.

Do not use the filter to filter hot water.

This filter cannot remove color from beverages such as cola.

This filter cannot reduce the TDS value of water.

At the beginning of filtration, keep enough water in the upper chamber to support gravity-fed water pressure.

If the filter will not be used for more than 3 days, remove all filter elements and allow parts to dry.

Do not use detergents to clean the filter elements, as this may cause clogging.

Please follow the installation guide and use the filter correctly for proper operation.

Compact Water Filter for Mountain Adventures

I plan on bringing this water filter with me on my next trip to the Rocky Mountains. During a previous visit, I drank fresh glacial runoff directly from the source. I had no issues, but later learned that even water that looks incredibly clean can carry risks. This will be an added safeguard so I can continue enjoying what I consider some of the purest water available.The filter is compact, lightweight and comes with a carrying strap and extension tube. It is easy to pack and doesn't take up much space.I haven't tested the filtration yet because I'm a little confused about the stated five-year shelf life. I'm unsure whether that begins from the manufacturing date or first use, and there is no date on the packaging. To be safe, I plan to use it within five years of receiving it.I'm looking forward to putting it to use on my next mountain adventure!

Reasonably priced replacements for my Berkey

Fit well, reasonable price, but the installation instructions could be clearerI��ve gotten used to using a Berkey filter and never drinking tap water directly. I��ve lived in places where the water tasted fine, but the tap water where I currently live doesn��t taste particularly good. I��m especially glad to have a filter that helps remove chlorine and improve the taste.Recent news about agricultural runoff in Canadian water supplies has also made me more conscious of what might be in our drinking water. Although I haven��t tested these filters for agricultural contaminants, I appreciate having a filtration system at home. They don��t specify that they remove them, but most carbon based filters do at least remove some of them.These are standard carbon-based replacement filters for a Berkey gravity filtration system, and they fit fine. My main complaint is that the installation instructions could be clearer. They don��t specify whether both clear washers/spacers at the bottom need to be kept in place. My mom and I had a nearly philosophical discussion about it, since the photo on the box seemed to show only one washer, while the online product description showed two. We eventually decided to use both.At $46 for two filters, the price seems reasonable. Hopefully they last about six months to a year like most my filters.

~0.2 microns, not 0.01 microns

A nice portable water filter for camping or bushcraft, but beware of false advertising. This is likely a 0.2 micron filter, not 0.01 microns. It will filter most bacteria but will not filter viruses. A 0.2 micron filter is required to remove 99.9999% of bacteria such as E. coli. To reach 550ml/minute with a 0.01 micron filter, you would need to apply herculean levels of hand pressure with a bottle or have a very large filter. I can get over 550ml/minute when squeezing with a bottle; sucking with your mouth is significantly slower, maybe 300ml/minute.You will also have to run approximately 3-4 liters of water through the filter to remove any excess carbon and other sediment, before it produces consistently clear water.With that out of the way, the set includes:- Portable filter- Lanyard- Silicone straw- InstructionsThe Good:- Reasonably lightweight, only 83-87g (minus lanyard, after flushing sediment, priming, then purging; I also forgot to weigh it before use, but this is the weight you'll realistically be carrying since flushing it in the field is awkward)- Can be connected to a standard 2.25L soda bottle or 28mm adapter- Silicone straw is a nice usability feature- Water quality is goodThe Bad:- False advertising for filter size- Lanyard is fragile (already broke by accident with very little force)- Requires some force to suck water through (though attaching a bag or bottle and squeezing makes this less of a problem)- Short lifespan versus comparable filters (only 1500L, many others do over twice as much)- Extremely faint plastic flavor - probably not noticeable by most people, will probably fade with use- Instructions don't tell you to flush with water to remove excess carbon before use- Does not come with a cap for the intake end; may drip in your bag

Direct Berkey Replacement Filter at a solid price point

Berkey filters aren't cheap but necessary of course, these are perfect replacements for our big Berkey.Quality seems good as I didn't cut them open to see what's inside, could be just rocks for all I know but I digress.We have used these for a year and we drink a TON of Berkey water for a reason.I might cut open the old ones just to see if it isn't just rocks...No leaks, included silicone gasket and don't forget to backwash the filters but all that is stated in the included, easy to read and follow instructions.Drink water, stay wise my friends!

Absolument rien a dire

J'ai cette gourde depuis 2 ans. J'ai filtr�� de leau en montagne maintes fois et elle est parfaite. Un randonneur maladroit m'a p��t�� le bouchon par contre, il a voulu le visser alors que ?a n'est pas n��cessaire ... Mais a part ?a le filtrage est parfait et pourtant on a bu l'eau d'un lac avec des bovins autour.Et pour les mauvais avis qui disent que l'eau s'��coule mal : oui. Faut le temps que ?a filtre 99.99% des particules, donc tu patientes et t'es content d'��tre en vie ??Et solidit�� du contenant : 21/20 ! C'est d'une r��sistance j'ai jamais vu ?a, portant on a press�� de toutes nos forces.

Efficace et peu encombrante

Syst��me de filtration au top. Un peu h��sitant au d��but mais il fonctionne parfaitement. Testez lors d'un voyage a Bali, aucun soucis rencontr�� avec l'eau du robinet (qu'il vaut mieux ��viter de boire en temps normal). Pr��f��rer quand mm l'eau en bouteille non ouverte mais cette gourde filtrante fait bien son taf en cas de besoin. Et 'e fait d'��tre souple procure un gain de place dans le sac.

Filtres de rechange pour cuves �� eau et �� gravit�� type Berkey ou ProOne.Ils conviennent bien en tout cas �� une cuve Berkey et ?a marche plut?t bien. Le filtrage a l'air bon et la fabrication de ces filtres para?t bonne. La compatibilit�� est de toute fa?on pr��vue avec la plupart des syst��mes par gravitation. Elles sont aussi moins cher que les originales. Malheureusement, la dur��e de filtration est aussi beaucoup plus courte dans le temps. Au final, des filtres de rachange de qualit�� et sans probl��me compatibles avec les Berkey.

Pour moi, par ces temps incertains, je pense que c'est un indispensable �� avoir en r��serve au cas o�� !Et pas besoin d'avoir les gamelles en inox pour les utiliser (c'est mieux, bien s?r, mais pas indispensable)Comme j'en ai quelques-uns d'avance, j'ai utilis�� ceux-l�� avec des sceaux alimentaires que j'ai eu chez le restaurateur �� c?t�� de la maison. Lot de deux filtres pour ma citerne.Ils sont faciles a installer, il faut les remplir d'eau avant de les visser sur la partie haute de la citerne.La filtration fonctionne bien, le d��bit est un peu plus fort qu'un goutte a goutte ce qui permet de remplir la cuve d'eau filtr��e en quelques heures.J'ai l'habitude d'utiliser ce type de filtres et je trouve cela tr��s bien.L'eau a un bon go?t.Bon rapport qualit�� prix.

L'alternative parfaite aux filtres d'origine !

Propri��taire d'une fontaine Orinko 8,5L depuis un moment, j'h��sitais �� reprendre les filtres de la marque ou �� passer sur des mod��les compatibles. J'ai finalement test�� cette paire de filtres (type BB9-2) et je ne regrette pas mon choix.Ce que j'ai aim�� : * Installation sans accroc : Le filetage est exactement le m��me que sur ma cuve Orinko. ?a se visse en 30 secondes, l'��tanch��it�� est parfaite avec les joints fournis. Aucune fuite �� signaler au niveau de la jonction entre les deux cuves. * Vitesse de filtration : Apr��s un bon amor?age (��tape cruciale !), le d��bit est excellent. On sent que les pores du charbon actif haute densit�� sont bien calibr��s. Comptez environ 1h30 pour filtrer la cuve compl��te. * Le go?t de l'eau : C��est le point le plus important. Habitant dans une zone o�� l'eau du robinet est tr��s chlor��e, la diff��rence est radicale. L'eau est neutre, cristalline, et n'a plus cette odeur de "piscine". * Rapport Qualit��/Prix : �� 199� la fontaine compl��te avec ces filtres, on est sur une solution bien plus ��conomique que les grandes marques am��ricaines, pour un r��sultat identique sur les COV et les m��taux lourds.�� savoir avant d'acheter :> Note sur le TDS : Comme pr��cis�� dans la description, ces filtres ne font pas baisser le taux de min��raux (TDS). C��est un lot de deux filtres �� charbon pour filtration d��eau potable. Ils sont parfaitement compatibles avec la fontaine �� eau pour laquelle je les ai choisis. Ils sont cependant plus petits que les filtres d��j�� pr��sents. La notice est en anglais malheureusement et le processus d��amor?age des filtres est assez hasardeux. Il faut les maintenir sous un robinet en for?ant l��eau dans le filtre �� travers une rondelle de caoutchouc. C��est une op��ration assez aquatique lorsqu'on veut bien la faire. Les filtres sont tr��s r��calcitrants �� accepter une grande quantit�� d��eau rapidement et l��eau s��chappe des c?t��s de la rondelle avec une grande hate un peu partout autour du robinet.

Le lot de 2 filtres arrive scell�� sous plastique avec tout le n��cessaire pour les fixer et remplacer les anciens.Je confirme qu' ils sont bien compatibles avec les marques cit��es dans la description. L'installation est facile et ne posera pas de souci.Apr��s quelques semaines d'utilisation et des dizaines de litres d'eau filtr��s, je constate les m��mes r��sultats que ceux obtenus avec les filtres d'origine de mon appareil. L'eau du robinet qui est �� la base tr��s calcaire et fortement chlor��e a un bien meilleur go?t apr��s filtration, c'est ind��niable et elle est plus douce.Apr��s, il y a toujours un doute sur la r��elle efficacit�� de ce genre de produit.
