How It Works
Working Principle

How the Portable RO Water Filter System Works

The system draws source water through the white RAW water line, moves it through multiple filtration and treatment components, separates purified water from concentrated drain water, and sends each water stream to its corresponding outlet.

Water Treatment Path From Source Water to Purified Water
Input General Outdoor Freshwater

Source water enters through the white RAW pipe and intake pre-filter.

Raw Water TDS
Pure Water TDS
01
Intake Pre-Filtration Stainless steel mesh and medical PP cotton help capture larger debris, sediment, rust, and suspended particles.
02
Activated Carbon Treatment Helps reduce chlorine, color, unpleasant taste, odor, and selected organic substances.
03
Reverse Osmosis Separation The RO membrane separates purified water from dissolved solids and concentrated drain water.
04
UV Treatment Built-in UV treatment provides an additional stage targeting bacteria and viruses during operation.
Blue PURE Outlet Purified Water

Sent to the faucet or a clean water collection container.

Red DIRTY Outlet Concentrated Water

Directed away from the system through the drain-water pipe.

White · RAW Blue · PURE Red · DIRTY
01
Draw Water Through the RAW Inlet

The electric pump draws source water through the intake pre-filter and white RAW water pipe. The intake pre-filter helps prevent larger outdoor debris from entering the system.

02
Complete Pre-Filtration and Carbon Treatment

Medical PP cotton helps capture sediment and fine particles. Activated carbon then helps improve water color, taste, odor, and chlorine-related characteristics.

03
Separate Water Through the RO Membrane

Pressure moves the pretreated water through the reverse osmosis membrane. Purified water passes through the membrane, while concentrated water is directed toward the DIRTY outlet.

04
Apply UV Treatment

The built-in UV system operates as an additional treatment stage while water is being produced. The UV indicator shows its operating status on the control display.

05
Monitor Raw and Purified Water TDS

The display shows the TDS level of both the incoming source water and the purified water, helping users monitor changes in system performance.

06
Collect Pure Water and Drain Concentrated Water

Purified water exits through the blue PURE line for collection. Concentrated water exits separately through the red DIRTY line and should be directed to a suitable drainage location.

Automatic cleaning: When the purifier is powered on, the system begins an automatic flushing process. Wait until the flushing indicator turns off before evaluating normal water production.
System Type Pump-Driven Portable RO System

Uses electric pressure instead of gravity alone.

Main Treatment Path Pre-Filter + Carbon + RO + UV

Groups the primary functional components of the system.

Water Quality Display Raw TDS & Pure TDS

Displays incoming and purified-water TDS readings.

Separate Outputs PURE Water + DIRTY Water

Purified and concentrated water leave through separate pipes.

Filtration-stage note: The product manual identifies the complete K8680 system as a 10-stage filtration system. For easier customer understanding, this working-principle module groups those stages into the main functional components: intake pre-filtration, activated carbon, reverse osmosis, and UV treatment.
Water source notice: The system is designed for general outdoor freshwater sources. It is not intended for seawater, industrial wastewater, chemically contaminated water, or water outside the recommended operating range.

High-capacity filtration with modern features

This system delivers filtered water quickly without the bulky storage tank found in many traditional reverse osmosis systems. The real-time TDS display and pressure gauge make monitoring performance easy, while the high flow rate helps eliminate the waiting that often comes with smaller filtration systems.

Water quality improved noticeably, operation remained quiet, and the overall design feels thoughtfully engineered. The installation requires some planning, but once operational, it performs exceptionally well. For households looking for a premium filtration solution, it checks nearly every box.

Your kind words made our day. Thank you for trusting us with your water filtration.

Best Safe Water And Ready When You Need.

I'm amazed at how well these filters really work. We have a 7 filter reverse osmosis system at our business across street. So my wife and I have been hauling 5 gallon bottles back and forth for our coffee and drinking water. It was taking quite a while for them to fill up and pain to keep lugging these bottles around. After lot of research I decided on Purewell the 9 stage filter ones, I have been please at how work these gravity systems work! And it takes every bit as good as RO water. So easy to use the water comes out the spout very fast. This is the secrect learned to head off the enviable bad review. Do not try to have water in upper chamber after lower chamber is full, or it will leak between chambers, it seems like you can but it is designed to fill top chamber to easily seen mark. Then after lower chamber is full. What ever size container of water out use that container to put same amount of water in up to 2.5 gal. You will always have ready supply fresh filtered drinking water on hand. Another great benefit these are portable and can be taken camping or on outing and make water sources safe to drink.

We are delighted to hear you are loving it. Thanks for choosing Purewell for your water.

Appears to be a Well-Designed Space-Saving R.O. System

I've been wanting to replace my very old R.O. under sink system and I picked up this Purewell U01 800GPD RO system because the specs are so impressiveespecially the non-electric design, high flow rate, and compact tankless build. It seems like a huge upgrade to my current system which includes a bulky three-gallon water tank.

That said, I havent installed it yet, and thats an important part of this review.

The reason Im holding off is the current lack of available replacement filters. Obviously, filter availability isnt just a minor detailits essential to the long-term usability of the product. Even the best system becomes useless if you cant maintain it. At the time of writing, replacements are not available, and although I did reach out to the company and was reassured that replacements will become available, until I can confirm that replacement filters are consistently available, Im hesitant to install and commit to using it. An RO system is a long-term investment, and ongoing maintenance support is just as important as the initial performance. Also, the system itself is also listed as currently unavailable, which raises some concern, although as with the filters, I was reassured that it is not being discontinued and will be available again sometime.

From an initial inspection, the unit itself looks solid. Its compact, lightweight, and the included components seem complete for installation. I love the minimalist design it looks clean and modern. The idea of a water-pressure-powered RO system is especially appealingno electricity, no pump noise, and theoretically fewer failure points.

I also like the inclusion of the TDS display and pressure gauge, which should make monitoring performance much easier compared to more basic systems. The claimed 2:1 efficiency ratio is another big plus if it holds up in real-world use.

Bottom line: This looks like a promising, well-designed system with some standout features, and I'm hoping to be able to install it soon. Ill update this review once Im able to put it into actual use.

Thank you for the love! We are here anytime you need support.

Complete, well-designed system that just makes sense

This RO system is seriously impressive. You can tell right away its been thoughtfully designedfrom the layout to the included components. It comes as a very complete package, including the faucet, so youre not scrambling to buy extra parts mid-install.

The tankless design keeps everything compact and clean under the sink, and the system runs ultra-quiet, which is a huge plus. The real-time TDS display and pressure gauge are great touchesthey make it easy to see exactly whats going on instead of just hoping everything is working correctly.

Water flow is strong for an RO system, and overall it just feels convenient and modern compared to older setups. If youre looking for a high-quality, all-in-one filtration system thats easy to live with day-to-day, this is a great choice.

Thanks for the 5 stars! So glad you are happy with the purchase. Welcome to the Purewell family.

Wanted to Love, Great Customer Service, Poor Product

I wanted to love this product so badly. I set up the product as instructed and primed the filters as instructed. I knew the first couple of filters through might be slower than normal. But HOURS would go by and we would have MAYBE 1/2 gal of water filtered. I reached out to Purewell customer service for trouble shooting. I'm in the Midwest of the USA and would recieve one email a day - so they're hard to get more than one email a day but otherwise they were great! I had bought replacement filters to have on hand for a couple months down the road. Customer service said my filters might be faulty so I tried my back up. I primed them as instructed and installed as instructed. It worked VERY well for 2 days and then I woke up one morning and the top tank was full and no water had filtered AT ALL over night! These are brand new $70 filters and a $210 stainless steel tank.... I shouldn't have to constantly prime the filters or constantly be tapping them to get them to work again. I know we have hard well water but if these filters clog after maybe filtering 10 gals of water it's just not worth it. The water that was filtered tasted great but when I can't even fill my water bottle - what's the point. After two weeks of trouble shooting, I just felt defeated and want a product I don't have to fight.

Thank you so much for the great review! We are thrilled the system is working well for you. Enjoy your clean water!

Adding a saddle fitting to the drain hole is SO much quicker than adding a new p-trap piece

I am a plumber by trade and I am very impressed with this system from top to bottom, but especially how easy they make it for everyday homeowners to install this system completely. Nothing is needed besides a small wrench and a drill to COMPLETELY install this thing. Nothing at all. No special p-trap piece to add or swap out for the waste water, no electric hookup or anything. They add a piece so you can use your already installed piping for the waste and everything else is pretty much a push fitting. And they make it even easier with the detailed directions and a video that shows every step. We got ours because the RO system we have now is not just outdated, but there are THREE filters are they are very expensive, kinda loud, takes up %70 of our under the sink counter space, and need changed every 90 days! That's a lose lose situation. Saw this, and jumped at the chance to try it and test it out. Nothing to lose in our situation. But found we had everything to gain. After a faster than usual install process for me, about 15 min, it was done. It took me about the same to take out the old one as well. The install process was not only fast, but it was easy too. The unit it self is larger than the pictures kinda lead on so make sure you pay attention to the height of it to insure you have the room where you are putting it. I have seen some under the sink spaces that do not have the clearance, especially in manufactured homes. So just make sure ESPECIALLY you have a double basin sink or a 'farmhouse' style sink and/or if the walls of the cabinet run really close to the sides of the sink basin(s). Just double check to avoid the slight headache of return processes. Back to the review: final ourxome is incredible water at a very impressive rate. We can fill out kids water bottle for school now in about 9 seconds where as before it would take 30-35 seconds. And the water taste is amazing. It has that one taste that RO water can only give you. If you know, you know! Very deserving, very raving, 5 star review! Not a single negative comment or even a concern or a suggestion. Just a great value for the money on all accounts!!!!

Awesome review, thank you! If you ever need filters or help, we are just a message away.

Dont overfill and its just fine

My only mistake was overfilling the top when the bottom reservoir was more than halfway full. Water poured out of the top of the bottom reservoir. My mistake.

Besides that, works good. Water quality looks good when I tested it. Saves a ton of money not having to buy bottled water

We are delighted to hear you are loving it. Thanks for choosing Purewell for your water.

Works great

Works great and provides filtered water. Fairly quick results after filling the top. Only drawback is the learning curve in knowing how much to add so it doesnt overflow.

Thank you for the love! We are here anytime you need support.

Produit de bonne manufacture et fonctionnel. Attention normes NSF/ANSI 42&372 non-mentionnes.

Emballage soign.

We are so happy the install went smoothly for you. Thanks for the recommendation.

Great little water filter
