How Silver Ion Support Works

Silver ions are incorporated into selected filtration media to provide bacteriostatic support inside the cartridge.

Silver Ions Are Integrated into the Media The silver-ion component is distributed within or applied to the selected filter material during manufacturing.

Water Contacts the Treated Surface As water moves through the cartridge, it contacts the silver-ion-treated filtration media.

Growth Within the Media Is Inhibited The silver-ion treatment helps limit bacterial multiplication on or within the filter material during normal use.

Primary Filtration Stages Continue the Work Carbon, ceramic, UF, or other specified filtration stages perform the system’s primary contaminant-reduction functions.

Bacteriostatic Does Not Mean Sterilizing Silver-ion-treated media is intended to help control growth inside the filter. It should not be presented as proof that bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms have been removed from the source water.

Important Use and Care Notes

Silver-ion support does not replace correct filter preparation, maintenance, or appropriate source-water selection.

Flush Before First Use Prepare and flush the filter according to the product instructions before using the filtered water for drinking.

Use an Appropriate Water Source Silver-ion-treated media alone does not make sewage, industrially polluted water, saltwater, or other unsafe sources suitable for drinking.

Do Not Open or Modify the Filter Do not remove, add, regenerate, or alter the internal filter media. Use the cartridge only in its original configuration.

Replace the Filter on Schedule Bacteriostatic support does not make a filter permanent. Replace it when the rated capacity or recommended service period is reached.

Avoid Hot Water and Chemicals Do not use hot water, bleach, detergents, or treatment chemicals unless they are specifically permitted in the product instructions.

Avoid Extended Water Stagnation Follow the recommended flushing and storage procedure after extended periods of non-use or when water has remained inside the system.

Follow Public Health Advisories During a boil-water notice or known microbiological event, follow instructions from the relevant local health authority.

Check the Product Specification Silver-ion content, media type, intended use, and performance claims may vary between Purewell filter models.
