Care & Use Notes

04
Flush Before First Use

The first few mouthfuls may contain harmless dark carbon particles. Sip and discard the initial filtered water until it runs clear.

Keep the Air Hole Clear

Do not cover the silicone air hole beside the straw. Proper airflow is required to draw water through the filter.

Stronger Suction Is Normal

The five-stage filter creates more resistance than a standard drinking bottle, so slightly stronger suction may be required.

Use Clear Freshwater

Choose the clearest available water source. Heavy sediment and muddy water may reduce flow and shorten filter life.

Do Not Use a Dishwasher

The bottle and filter system are not dishwasher-safe. Clean the bottle manually with cool or lukewarm water.

Do Not Wash the Filter with Detergent

Do not use soap, bleach, chemical cleaners, or abrasive materials directly on the filter cartridge.

Remove Residual Water

After use, blow through the mouthpiece to help remove water remaining inside the straw and filter cartridge.

Replace the Filter on Time

Replace the cartridge after filtering 1,500 L, or earlier if flow becomes noticeably slower or the taste changes.

Storage note: Before long-term storage, empty the bottle, remove as much residual water from the filter as possible, allow the components to air-dry, and store them in a clean, cool, ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
User Guide
How to Use

Set Up, Fill and Drink in a Few Simple Steps

The Portable Outdoor Water Filter Bottle uses the same simple setup process for both capacity options. Prepare the cartridge before first use, fill the bottle with suitable freshwater, and drink directly through the filtered mouthpiece.

650 ml / 22 fl oz 1000 ml / 33.8 fl oz No Electricity Required
01

First-Time Filter Setup

Prepare and install the filter cartridge correctly before drinking from the bottle for the first time.

650 ml Portable Outdoor Water Filter Bottle
650 ml Compact Capacity
1000 ml Portable Outdoor Water Filter Bottle in emerald green
1000 ml Extended Capacity
Same operating method: Both bottle sizes use the same cartridge installation, first-use flushing and drinking process.
1
Remove the cartridge from the cap

Unscrew the bottle cap and carefully detach the replaceable filter cartridge from the cap connection.

2
Rinse the activated carbon section

Rinse the activated carbon section with clean running water before first use. Do not apply soap, detergent or chemical cleaner to the cartridge.

3
Reconnect the filter to the cap

Align the cartridge connection with the underside of the cap and turn it until the cartridge is firmly secured.

4
Fill the bottle with freshwater

Fill the bottle with the clearest available tap, spring, stream, river, lake or well water. Leave enough space to reinstall the filter and cap.

5
Screw the cap onto the bottle

Lower the cartridge into the bottle and tighten the cap securely. Make sure the cap and cartridge remain straight and properly connected.

6
Discard the first few mouthfuls

Sip through the mouthpiece and discard the first few mouthfuls. A small amount of dark carbon dust may appear during the initial rinse and should clear after flushing.

First-use note: Slightly stronger suction than a standard water bottle is normal because water must pass through the multi-stage filter before reaching the mouthpiece.
02

Daily Drinking & After-Use Care

Follow these steps whenever you refill, drink from or store the bottle during outdoor use.

Portable Outdoor Water Filter Bottle outdoor use
Fill · Sip · Dry Filter freshwater directly as you drink

No electricity, battery or separate pumping equipment is required.

1
Choose the clearest available freshwater

Avoid water with heavy mud, large amounts of sediment, visible pollution or chemical contamination whenever possible.

2
Fill and tighten the bottle

Fill the bottle, lower the installed cartridge into the water, and tighten the cap before drinking.

3
Open the drinking spout

Raise the collapsible mouthpiece and make sure the silicone air hole next to the drinking outlet is not covered or blocked.

4
Drink with steady suction

Sip steadily through the mouthpiece. Water is drawn through the internal filter cartridge before reaching the drinking outlet.

5
Remove residual water after use

Empty the remaining source water, then blow through the mouthpiece to help remove water trapped inside the straw and cartridge.

6
Air-dry before storage

Allow the bottle, cap and filter components to dry in a clean, cool and ventilated place before long-term storage.

Flow reminder: If drinking flow becomes noticeably slower, check that the air hole is open and that the cartridge is properly installed. A clogged or end-of-life cartridge may need to be replaced.

Updated review

It's not often I am impressed with a company but the company that makes this bottle is really great. I had some questions and they bent over backwards to provide answers. And as for the product, it looks great, feels great in hand is easy to use. Not only is it good for taking water on the go with you but the company has concentrated on filtering out dangerous water born bacteria if you are in an area with the potential risk. When a company is that responsible, you have to give them your respect.

It works and purchased three times

This is my third filter water bottle, and I have used the previous ones several different times in the wild with different water sources.

The water is very clear, and all unwanted substances that I can see are removed, and it tastes great

Good for hikers

Our son is a hiker, and this was a good filtered bottle for his trips to the mountains. It has been sturdy and durable and doesn't seem to leak.

Great filter for price minus one flaw they will fix

UPDATE: took this to South America and it worked great! It was so handy to ALWAYS have water when I needed it even in the hotel when I didn’t wanna spend five dollars a bottle or there was no place to buy water nearby. I got in the habit of carrying to water bottles in my Daypack so I had this one plus one I purchased. Well, this was extremely handy, I did like having an extra safe bottle of water that I could use for toothbrush washing or is this when you have to suck and squirt lol.

One star because of the leakage tissue, but make sure you do NOT fill up much past the top line. The filter will push the water up, and then it leaks for sure. Otherwise it seemed to be pretty good so I’m not sure whether it was my great taping job or filling it up too high.

I purchased this because I’m traveling to South America where the water is questionable and to avoid getting Andes’revenge ha ha. I have been using a Britta for US travel and Europe.

For the price, this is an awesome filter. The competitors’ were so much more money, so I’m really happy that this is affordable. Seems to work great and is incredibly lightweight for what I expected. I put in tapwater and it got rid of the horrible taste but note…

BE SURE to test it with 6 ounces of water first because it initially tasted off, plastic-y and that’s what the manufacturer said. I’m not sure that was obvious in the instructions.

It’s a slow sipper because it’s filtering while you are sipping, but that’s to be expected. The nice thing is having the option of filling it with non potable water.

Only issue is it does leak; however, I did find a workaround (yay!), and I did speak with them and they are working on fixing this. I used this tape below. Not a sticky as gaffer tape although that might work well too, but this is thinner but seals well.

Love the different colors. I purchased purple. You don’t usually get that from a recently priced item like this.

Not bad.

My only issue isn't really an issue. Keep in mind the filtration stages and you will understand. If you don't have young lungs or have any kind of respiratory problems. Or if you need to intake a lot of water per drink. This is not the product for you.

The Survival Ace:Survimate's 5-Stage Filter Delivers UltraClean, TasteTested Water for Any Adventure

I bought the Survimate 5-Stage 0.01μm Ultra-Filtration Filtered Water Bottle for a backpacking trip where access to reliably clean water would be questionable. My primary concerns were filtration effectiveness and portability. The advertised 0.01μm filtration precision and NSF/ANSI certifications immediately grabbed my attention, offering a serious alternative to bulky pump filters. My first impression was that it was remarkably sturdy and lightweight for the technology it contained—an essential piece of survival gear disguised as a standard water bottle.

Experience and Analysis

This bottle is a powerhouse of purification. The 5-stage filter system, which includes a 0.01$\mu$m hollow fiber UF membrane and activated carbon, is what sets it apart. The ultra-fine filtration pore size is significantly smaller than many competitors, giving me high confidence in its ability to remove microscopic contaminants, including protozoa and bacteria. I tested it using a brook water source, and the resulting taste was clean, fresh, and completely devoid of the muddy or stagnant taste I expected. The activated carbon element clearly does an excellent job of reducing chlorine, bad odors, and improving the overall palatability of the water.

However, the high level of filtration does come with a trade-off: suction effort. Due to the five layers the water must pass through, drawing water through the straw requires noticeably more effort than a standard straw bottle. This is not a casual sipping bottle; it's a serious filtration tool. The bottle is made from durable, BPA-Free Tritan material and features a clever, built-in compass on the lid, which is a nice touch for outdoor enthusiasts. The claimed 1,500L filter lifespan is also impressive, offering long-term value.

Honest Pros and Cons

Pros
Superior Filtration Precision: Features a 0.01$\mu$m Ultra-Filtration membrane, providing extremely high-level contaminant reduction compared to many competitive models.

5-Stage Comprehensive Filter: Effectively reduces sediment, bacteria, heavy metals, chlorine, and odors, resulting in great-tasting water from questionable sources.

NSF/ANSI Certified: Passed authoritative testing to NSF/ANSI 42 standards for aesthetic impurities (taste/odor/chlorine reduction), increasing confidence in its performance.

Durable and BPA-Free: Constructed with sturdy, BPA-Free Tritan material, making it tough enough for outdoor and survival use.

Excellent Lifespan: The filter is rated for a long 1,500L (396 gallons) of use before replacement is needed.

Cons
High Suction Required: The multi-stage filter requires significantly more effort to draw water through, which can be tiring.

Risk of Leakage: If the straw is not firmly pressed down or the bottle is not kept upright, some users report a tendency to leak from the cap.

Initial Quirkiness: The first few uses may result in a slight "cardboard" taste or temporary black residue due to harmless carbon particles, which quickly dissipates.

Verdict

The Survimate 5-Stage 0.01μm Ultra-Filtration Filtered Water Bottle is an essential 5-star investment for any outdoor adventurer or prepper. Its superior filtration capability is its biggest selling point, ensuring safety from uncertain water sources. While you need to be prepared to put in a little extra work to draw the water, the assurance of ultra-clean, great-tasting water is well worth the trade-off. It's the ultimate combination of portability, durability, and reliable filtration, making it best for hikers, campers, international travelers, and anyone prioritizing water safety in emergency situations.

Excellent product with lasting filter.

Excellent product. For less than a Brita, you can filter many more impurities. Approximately a gallon a day for a year, per the 1500-liter claim. I daily drive this water bottle, and the kids keep taking it :)

It sucked

All 5 packages were in their original packaging and in good condition. I opened one to test the pull on the straw and taste of my faucet water, and was surprised at how easy it was to suction unlike others' reviews. The water tasted just fine. We will see how it fares out in the wilderness.

Filter great, kind of hard to suck the water out

Works great. I went backpacking and used all different types of water and never got sick and the water tasted just fine. It is a little hard to suck out of the straw which is why I only gave it 4 stars. It kind of makes your cheeks hurt from having to work so hard to get the water. But the filter seems to do its job.

Works as stated and great for boil orders and emergencies

it's rather prophetic that I ordered this item when there was a boil order for a week at work so you couldn't use the water fountains and the day I received it, the water at my home was turned off because of a water leak down the street and we will be on a boil order for a few days. Anyway, I got this and immediately filled it with already filtered water--my boyfriend is a prepper so we have an Alexapure filtration system. I wanted to see how hard it was to operate. Pretty much you just put in water, screw on cap, and it takes a few sucks to get the water to flow, but it works. I'll take this to work so that it won't matter if we've got 'approved' or not, I'll be able to drink it. I had purchased a LifeStraw, but it wasn't convenient since it didn't fit in a water bottle. I loathe paying for bottled water and most of the purified water makes my stomach hurt. I actually prefer tap water.

Worked pretty well.

I ordered two, one for me and one for my husband. The one my husband got had a really bitter chemical taste to it, so he wouldn't use it. But the one I got tasted fine. We hiked several days in the woods with only creeks to drink out of and it worked great.

Good little travel bottle

This bottle is great for when you're on the road. The ability to get purified water from any drinking fountain or sink is a plus when traveling. I just wish it also came in glass. But for a plastic water bottle it's great. It purifies quickly. A little on the small side.
